AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX uses the Navi 31 chip made on the 5nm process. The 5nm node allows about 58 billion transistors on a 522 mm² die. The chip includes 6,144 Stream Processors, 382 TMUs, and 192 ROPs for rendering. It includes 96 Ray Accelerators for ray tracing and Tensor Cores for AI acceleration.
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX comes with 24 GB of GDDR6 memory. Memory connects over a 384-bit interface with 960 GB/s bandwidth. The speed helps maintain performance at high resolutions or with large files. The GPU runs at up to 2500 MHz.
RDNA 3 moves consumer graphics to a chiplet layout. It uses 5 nm Graphics Compute Dies paired with 6 nm Memory Cache Dies to balance performance and cost. Compute Units are redesigned with dual-issue ALUs, enabling up to 12,288 operations per clock. Dedicated AI accelerators deliver up to 122.8 TFLOPS of FP16 matrix performance. Ray tracing is improved with second-generation accelerators, larger caches, and bigger register files. The Radiance Display Engine supports 8K 165 Hz output and hardware AV1 processing. Efficiency improves through architectural changes and modern process nodes.
To connect displays, it provides 3x DisplayPort 2.1 and 1x HDMI 2.1. Data and power run through a PCI-Express interface and 2× 8-pin. Recommended PSU: 800 W.
